East Sister Rock Island Guest Reviews

4.9 out of 5 Across 118 Stays

East Sister Rock Island reviews average 4.9 out of 5 across 118 stays collected from Google, booking platforms, and direct guest feedback. Because we host one group at a time, every review on this page comes from people who had the entire island — house, pool, dock, boat — to themselves for the week.

We publish reviews the way we’d want to read them: dated, source-attributed, and unedited. If a review mentions something we fixed since, we say so in our reply.

How We Collect and Verify Reviews

Every review here comes from a completed stay or event — we don’t accept reviews from day visitors or people who haven’t been on the island. After checkout, guests get one email asking for honest feedback on Google or their booking platform; we never incentivize ratings or filter out criticism.

Each entry below shows the guest’s first name or initials, the month and year of the stay, the star rating they gave, and where the review was posted (Google, Airbnb, Vrbo, or direct). Our family reads and replies to every single one — usually Wesley, within 48 hours.

"Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value The absolute best vacation I have ever had. The views are breathtaking. We spent our days swimming in the pool, floating in the moat and relaxing. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed cooking and grilling together. I can’t explain how good for your mind, body and soul this place is. You must do this for yourself! The peace the island gives you is something everyone needs to experience!"

"Breathtaking Words cannot describe the mesmerizing sunsets you can see every day at this place. Such a calm environment to relax and feel you’re complete disconnected from this world!"

"Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value I have stayed on Sister Rock twice. It has enough room for a big family, but frankly, it is too romantic to bring the kids. I'm 66 years old and have traveled all over the world. Sister Rock is, by far, the best place I have ever stayed. And if you want, you can catch enough fish off the dock to feed you for the whole visit. With a little luck you'll have a large school of ten to twenty pound tarpon right off the dock at night and you can hook up with shrimp and your bass rod. Just remember, I did not say your line would survive the encounter."

The guys really made sure we had everything we needed, and made us feel like the island was our home! So thankful for the time we got to spend on East Sister Rock Island and can’t wait to come back!"

"We have stayed at this Paradise for 3 years in a row and hope to continue for another 20! East Sister Rock Island is the perfect get away for seclusion, relaxation, and simply enjoying the beauty that is our natural Florida. Wes has always been more than accommodating to any request or help we have needed, and responds nearly immediately when you reach out to him. The mote around the island is perfect for those whose want to enjoy snorkeling, but are hesitant of open waters, we have found lobster, conch, eels, puffers, octopus, sting ray, manatees, and thousands of reef fish for people of all ages to enjoy. Just outside the mote provides ample opportunity for spearing and catching your daily protein. Sombrero Reef is a short boat ride from the island and is by far the most stunning reef around. Bring your boat, your rods, and your gear. Conveniently located near shopping, grocery, and restaurants for when you need to revisit the real world. This stay is more than worth the cost, the recharging that we get when we visit is priceless, can't wait to get back next summer. Thank you Wes for everything, you and your property are amazing."

"A Slice of Paradise - Off-Grid Adventure at East Sister Rock Staying at East Sister Rock was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. The island offers the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, all while being completely off-grid in paradise. The 360° views are breathtaking, with the ocean waves and gentle breeze flowing through the house, creating an incredibly serene atmosphere. We spent our days exploring the vibrant marine life around the island—fish, manatees, stingrays, and even sharks made every swim an adventure. Heading out in our boat was another highlight; we had an awesome time fishing, lobstering, and exploring the beautiful Atlantic waters. A special shoutout to our host, Wesley, who was a fantastic communicator and was available 24/7 to ensure we had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a unique getaway that’s both adventurous and peaceful, East Sister Rock is the place to be. Can’t wait to return!"

Wedding & Event Reviews

Couples review differently than vacationers — they grade logistics, weather calls, and whether guests got on and off an island without a hitch. This section collects reviews from weddings and events at our island weddings venue.

Family Vacation & Fishing Trip Reviews

The other half of our guests come for the water: dock fishing at dusk, snorkeling the moat with kids, running the skiff to the sandbars. Their reviews tend to mention the same three things — so we grouped them.

What Guests Mention Most

Across all 118 reviews, the same themes repeat — here’s the honest tally from our review export:

  • Sunsets from the pool deck / verandas
  • The snorkeling moat
  • Total privacy — “we had the whole island”
  • The included boat and 5-minute transfers
  • Hosting / responsiveness of the family

The most common phrase in East Sister Rock Island reviews is some version of “we didn’t want to leave”. The most common criticism is that a week isn’t long enough — and the honest ones mention that an island stay means planning groceries before you arrive. Fair on both counts.

Yes — the Wedding & Event Reviews section above collects them separately, because couples grade logistics: guest transport by pontoon, on-site coordination, and weather calls. See our island weddings page for packages, then read what couples said afterward.

Guests who split the weekly rate across a full group consistently say yes — $13,500 across 12 guests works out to about $160 per person per night for a whole private island. Reviews that address value compare it favorably to Keys resorts where you share everything.
